Cadet College Kallar Kahar is located on road Chakwal - Khushab - Sargodha, about 8 km from the famous Kallar Kahar lake. This is the place that Zaheer Ud Din Muhammad Babar, the founder of the Mughal Dynasty in the Sub Continent camped while on his way to invade the Sub Continent and called this place "Little Kashmir" due to its scenic beauty. It comprises great panoramic scenery and a healthy and natural atmosphere. There are many big playgrounds and mountains within the premises of the college.

    I am running Cadet College Kallar Kahar for 27 years; and also, a Girls Cadet College since 2015. I studied at Military College Jhelum for seven years and both my sons also studied in Boarding Colleges. There are a number of excellent boarding schools in Pakistan; many alumni from these colleges have been my contemporaries in the past; even of now, I happen to know Cadets from these Colleges.

    Some common traits of Cadets from these boarding colleges are comradeship, team loyalty, deep rooted life lasting friendship, courage, determination and other leadership traits. They are disciplined, physically fit, mentally very strong, healthy and so on.

    Blitze of social media, we all know, has undermined our values in general and youth in particular. “Smart Phone is the modern day hypodermic needle, delivering digital dopamine 24/7 for wired generation”. It is eroding and seriously compromising the health and cognitive abilities of our young generation. Apparently society is unable to do anything to save our youth!

    What I know for sure that a good Boarding School can /may limit the use of screen and channel the energy of young boys/girls to more healthy curriculum and extra curriculum activities. Regular sports, morning PT, busy routine and controlled environment is an effective antidote to idol time and emotional turbulence due to adolescence.

    My message to parents is; put your child, boy/girl in a good boarding school. Over period of time your child will acquire the same attributes, mentioned above.
